This subject introduces basic research methods in generating accurate and useful information for social science research. Topics include the theoretical foundation of social research, various
techniques for research design, the conceptualization and definition of social and policy problems, the methods of data collection including sampling, interviewing, survey questionnaire, analysis and
organisation of both qualitative and quantitative data (including descriptive and regression analysis), and the interpretation and presentation of research results.
