Programme: ELH(HSS)

1. An introduction to women's writing from the late 20th century to the present day. 2. An examination and discussion of a sample of literary and film texts and the themes, literary tropes and personal/political agendas that define them. 3. An examination of feminist and womanist writing as a defining context for many contemporary writers of fiction. 4. Each student will write a research essay of approximately 1000 words related to the texts studied during the course and sit an exam.
