1. Introduction to the intellectual, cultural and artistic contexts of artistic works of the industrial age.
2. Examination and discussion of a sample of literary and film texts and their responses to the phenomenon of mass technology and mechanisation.
3. Examination and discussion of the different trajectories art followed in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
4. Each student will write a final research essay of approximately 1500 words related to the texts studied during the course and sit an exam.
